I`ve made a fix to OpenMotif code provide support for SGI`s Irix color Icons. Yes, in full color! Man, you should see my desktop... I`m converting ALL Irix RGB icon files to color XPM.... There are over 200+ of them. Also, I`m working on the Window Frame style and Min,Max and Menu gadget... a la SGI too! The Irix Toolchest is next.... I`ve got most of it working now.... but still some bugs on the mwmrc parsing though ! I should be done by next week! (not spell-checked) Erik |

We would be glad to host these patches. Just make sure you patch against the "motifdevel" CVS branch. I suspect that more than a few would be interested in this!
Also please post a url for some of your desktops. We`re going to be posting "tweak of the week" shortly and this one certainly qualifies!

Cool^2 ! I would love to see the code.
It would be neat to be able to read in the RGB data directly without going
through Xpm. Then we could just leave the data on a shared directory if we
have both Irix and Linux on the network.

Progress updates
1) I`m putting together a web site to guide peoples in the sometimes hard task of customizing Mwm & existing X11 apps look & feel. I`ll put online too, my C++ Motif Framework Project named MwPresto, which I thinks really kick (beep!). See my other post in this forum.
2) About 85 icons have been converted so far... I should hit the 100 marks by Monday night... Not easy when you have two kinds, wife(only one) and another one (kid) the way! It requires very precise scheduling, not a la M$ ;-)
3) I`ve re-modified a GTK+ Theme (one that I`ve made some time ago) that will fit nicely with my Irix-Patch.
4) Mime setting for GMC & xfm icons and WM_CLASS name. Kfm is next!
5) ToolChest will soon hit V-0.1. But I`ve no time left to bug fix it. By next Friday, I guest!
6) An alternative/temporary solution for ToolChest is to use Wmw`s RootMenu with a cleaned Irix mwmrc. That option is likely to be available at the same time as my web site... meaning a few days.
7) Screen shots.... Yes, Yes!
8) The SGI L&F Patch will be first cleaned up, documented and then merged against rev_3. Of course a do it your self alternative will be available sooner! I need to test it against rev_3, just to make sure.
